Here are answers to all the questions that we regularly receive:

How do you choose people off the waiting list?

Please refer to our Waiting list policy.

Do you accept Duke of Edinburgh Award volunteers?

We regularly welcome Duke of Edinburgh participants doing their ‘community’ volunteering, and many have enjoyed it so much they have stayed on longer than they had to!

Please get in touch to discuss what you want to achieve, and what nights you are free.

Please be aware there is some training that needs to be undertaken, though this varies depending on your age – we can explain when we discuss.

How much does it cost?

Membership of Heath and Reach Scout Group currently costs £13 per month every month. This is subject to change.

Activities are additional to this, and vary, though we try do a mixture of price ranges rather than everything being expensive.

And you will need to buy Beaver/Cub/Scout uniform.

When and where do you meet?

Typically we meet at the Scout Hut in Heath and Reach:

  • Beavers meet Monday nights
  • Cubs meet Wednesday nights
  • Scouts meet Thursday nights

However, we try to have a varied programme so we will often meet at other locations, on other nights or at weekends, depending on the activity and any guests.

How do I put my child’s details on the waiting list?

Please use the National Scout Group Locator to find your nearest Group.

Pop your details in and someone should be in touch to put you on a waiting list near you.

Can we hire your building?

Unfortunately our building is very old, has almost no parking and has residential housing nearby. So it doesn’t suit parties or one-off events.

However, if you are a club in the village looking for an occasional venue, and you don’t need parking, then get in touch and we can discuss.

What age ranges do you accept?

Our core age ranges are:

Please be aware we often have waiting lists so if you’re interested please submit your child’s name well in advance to avoid disappointment.

Can girls join Beavers/Cubs/Scouts?

Yes, girls have been able to join Beavers, Cubs and Scouts since 1991, and we have had many girls in the Group over the years.
