Scouts (10½ to 14 years)

Jump in and get muddy. Give back and get set. Scouts ignore the butterflies and go for it, and soon so will you.

Being a Scout

Scouts is for boys and girls ages 10½ to 14 years old.

When you join Scouts, you’ll be introduced to lots of new activities, people and things. Here’s the basics you need to know.

Activities and what you’ll get up to

Prepare for excitement and adventure! Try huge variety of activities surrounding areas of fitness, global and beliefs; be creative and get involved in your local community. Learn exciting outdoor skills and take part in adventurous activities, as well as camps and residential experiences.

Badges and awards

Completing awards challenges you to do more, learn more and be more. See what’s on offer and start your journey to the top.

What Scouts wear

Note to existing members: You can see exactly where badges should go using OSM.

You don’t need a uniform to join. But once you’ve settled in, you’ll start earning badges, and you’ll need to know where to put them!

The Scout volunteers

All of our adults are trained volunteers, working to make sure Scouting is safe, inclusive and accessible. Some lead the Troop week in and week out. Others visit occasionally to help run a session or drop in to share their skills.

No matter how much time you have to spare, find out about volunteering on your own terms.
